East Africa Fruit Company installed a 60m3 and a 40m3 Off-Grid Solar Cool Cube Cold Storage System designed, delivered and trained by DGridEnergy at this growing banana ripening company in Tanzania. Founded in 2013, EAFC is an SME in the domestic fruit and vegetable sector of Tanzania. EAFC has developed a robust, adaptable, and resilient logistics business transporting and processing vegetable and fruit from smallholder farmers directly to the market, eliminating the middlemen and providing consistent quality and supply. Because they work directly with farmers and have a strong logistics-oriented business model, they are able to seamlessly adapt to market demand, whether the product is potatoes, bananas, or otherwise. They are currently working with over 2.6 thousand farmers and expect to work with many more as the business expands.
